A Message from our Minister
Whoever thought that I would become a church lady?
When I think about my past it seems that it was a book I read and now I can't quite remember the details as clearly as when I first read it. However, I remember enough of it to realize how extraordinary it is that I am not only involved in a Spiritual Community, but I am the Community Spiritual Leader.
I resisted religious affiliation for decades until I found Religious Science and I hate to admit that it didn't stick the first time around. Not until the day I walked into Agape and heard Dr. Michael Beckwith speaking a language I had known all along. The other Science of Mind churches I attended were missing the mystical for me. But Dr. Michael, being a mystic, allowed me to know, as Jesus taught, that greater things than this could I do.
I became a student of the teaching, taking all the classes that were offered and hungering for more. It wasn't until I received the call to ministry that I realized that I hadn't missed a day of church for seven years.
I now see how this philosophy has changed and enriched my life. I am so grateful for the wisdom of Ernest Holmes and his inspirations from the teachings of Jesus, Emma Curtis Hopkins, Thomas Troward, Ralph Waldo Emerson and many more.
I lead a simple life that is rich in practicing the Presence and being of service when I am called. Living the teaching fills me to the Core of my being and I can't ever imagine living without it.
It is from this place that I teach my own Community. I have no expectations that they will hunger as I did, or that they will attend the Center every Sunday, or that it will speak to them as it did me. It is just my pleasure to study, grow spiritually and serve my community to the very best of my ability.
I hope to see you when you visit our Spiritual Home where the heart is.
With Love and Blessings,
Reverend Carrie Lauer
